Emergencies can happen at any time, with little or no warning. It’s important to be prepared, especially for persons with disabilities and chronic illnesses and for older adults.
Do you have a plan if you need to evacuate quickly? Who will assist you?
Do you have enough medications if you are unable to leave your home for a week or more?
Do you have enough food on hand — that you will be able to prepare – if the electricity goes out?
Do you have enough water for drinking, cleaning, and flushing toilets if the electricity goes out?
Who can you call if you need help?
